"Grandma you're so silly"!

I really enjoyed being a silly fun Mom to my girls and dreamed of having a similar relationship with my grandkids. I have worked hard to earn and retain my title, “Silly Grandma”. One of the things I remembered from my childhood was singing songs in the car on our way to the park for a picnic or on long road trips to Colorado.

I still remember most of the words to my favorite silly songs, I taught them to my kids and now I sing them with my grandkids. When they were little we sang the “itsy bitsy spider” or “zoom, zoom, zoom” Now we sing in the pool, on the swings, and even in the car. Our favorites are “flying purple people eater” , “itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini” or “froggy went a courting”. Of course, dancing is highly encouraged, the sillier the better, we often end up giggling before we get to the end of the song. When I see their smiling faces, and hear their musical laughter it makes my day, when they say, “Grandma you’re so silly” my heart fills with joy.

I went online to get the full lyrics and found the best site, www.lyrics.com you can find anything. This year we bought a karaoke machine for the kids, the jury is out on how much I love that idea, the kids are crazy about it, the birds and squirrels, not so much.
